SOPAPILLA CHEESECAKE

 

3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

 

1 1/2 cups white sugar

 

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

 

2 (8 ounce) cans crescent roll dough

 

Topping:

1/2 cup melted butter

 

1/2 cup white sugar

 

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

 

1/4 cup sliced almonds

 

1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees.

2. Beat cream cheese with 1 1/2 cups of sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Place one can of crescent dough in bottom of 9×13 glass baking dish. Pinch perforations together. Cut off excess dough from the end to cover any area not coverered along the side, pinching to seal.  Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over dough. Cover with the remaining piece of crescent dough.

3. Combine melted butter with 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon. Spread evenly over the top of cheesecake. Sprinkle on almonds.
